I do not know about you, but I'm a big fan of spring cleaning. I like to use the holiday as an opportunity to move all my stuff in, through, and get thrown out, passed on and so on. Besides that, I love to update my room and find new things. So now I started another "mini room makeover". My mom & I were at IKEA today, where we filled the cart with fine things. I love IKEA seriously, most think it's a hell .. personally change myself medicine cabinet magically to a 9-year-old who zips around on the cart (yes, I stilte me and drove off along the rows in a ikea cart), begging to get a teddy bear (my mother persuaded me I'd better leave it to a child who "wanted to play more with it") and is fascinated by all the lights in the lamp department. Yeah, who do you know! Anyways, I went in the afternoon started with the first part of my spring cleaning / makeover. I'll make a updatet room tour video when I'm finished, so stay tuned lol! You can see the old here.
Okay so, today I took hold that where most in need, and I have been afraid medicine cabinet to look for very long ..: Bag & under the bed! For I have a void behind my bed, and people always ask "Aw Sandra your room is always so fine how do you do it?" Yes, I push everything behind the bed haha .. Here's a before picture: Assorted shoeboxes and weird bags, I used to put on to hide all my weird stuff .. but today I cleared out in it, and had bought some really nice boxes at IKEA! (Only 19, - for 2!)
Did some fun things along the way .. Did among other things, a long forgotten feather medicine cabinet boa & bunny ears .. jaså .. if I ever get the urge to be a Las Vegas stripper, so I know when I have my gear in order! As Gaby said in Desperate Housewives "If we're going somewhere I can not bring a boa .. I do not wanna go!" Hehe aw, was so happy when I found these! Try to ask if I'm a fan? Do remember it was so big, every time my friends and I came into town and blah. were in Abercrombie. Now a bit of magic might disappear when I walk by every day, but that is .. a nice guy is a nice guy! Did a lot of laminated clippings from fashion magazines and front pages, especially those I clearly remember! It was my peak when I was 11-12 years if I got a teenvogue (daddy brought home when he traveled), and I felt like I was holding a little piece of fashion industry in his hand. Remember so clearly the day I got my first teen vogue! I used to spend hours finding the right clippings, and get my mom to laminate them, and then I decorated my room with them. According to myself, got the covers my room to look like "the editors at a fashion magazine," which at one time was my dream job (fashion editor). Hehe, that's very sweet, and can actually be very decorative, especially if you laminate them, so it does not look untidy!
Okay, it's still rooted, but organized mess that I now have an overview! Everything from stacks of old magazines (you never know when you need to re-read "50 Sex Tips" in the cosmopolitan, hahah), victoria secret bag, I find it hard to rid myself of, health magazine clippings, to my diploma at school, for a book on branding, shopping networks, to candles I do not use .. these boxes contain all the weird things that have no other place to be!
Tada! See how pretty that looks behind my bed now. It may well be that it might not liige there are people always watching, haha, but it's still nice to have been thrown a whole lot out, and then vacuumed properly (there was a fair obnoxious!). My camera equipment has also got its own box now, lol!
What about you? Make the "spring clean"? This is just the beginning, wait to see the final result. I have not bought some new furniture (yes okay, besides a chair to my desk when I lacked the time, and it is fairly essential haha!) But the little things can really make a big difference, and I love to experiment with interior and make my room cozy!
- Look forward and see the rest of the room! <3
Hi Sandra. I have always wanted to clean up my room, but unfortunately my room is so small! Do not even the half of
